Terms of use
These are the rules for using Homebloom: Shared Chores (the app) and homebloom.app (this website). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
The short version: use Homebloom kindly, share your home only with people you choose, know that coins are for play and not money, and know that the Household plan is billed by Apple or Google, never by us.
Who we are
Homebloom is run by Suhendra Suhendra, an individual developer, under the brand Aksaworks (“we”, “us”). The only way to reach us is [email protected].
Who can use it
Homebloom is not directed at children under 16, and you must be at least 16 to have an account. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, make sure a parent or guardian is fine with you using it. If you think a child has an account, email us and we will delete it.
Your account and your home
- Give us a real way to reach you, and keep your sign-in safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- A home is shared. Everyone in it sees the same chores, who did what and when, Thanks, the coins and Budley. They do not see your email address. Only invite people you want to share that with. The privacy policy has the detail.
- You can be in one home at a time. You can leave your home whenever you like. Chores that were yours go back to “Anyone” so the others can pick them up.
- Coins, Budley’s growth and the items you own belong to the home, not to one person. If you leave, they stay with the home.
- Joining a home is free. Nobody has to pay to be someone’s partner in Homebloom.
How to behave
Please do not:
- use Homebloom to harass, threaten or monitor someone who has not agreed to it;
- put unlawful or abusive content in chore names, home names or Budley’s name;
- scrape the service, or use bots or scripts to check off chores, earn coins or growth, or otherwise game it;
- probe, overload or break into our servers, or get around limits we set;
- reverse engineer the app, except where the law lets you;
- pretend to be someone else, or use another person’s account.
If you break these rules we may remove content, pause your account or end it. We will tell you why when we can.
Coins and items
- Coins are earned only by finishing chores. We never sell them, and nothing you pay for buys coins.
- Coins and items are virtual. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold or redeemed for money, and are not property you own outside the app.
- Items are cosmetic. Nothing in the shop affects Budley’s care, mood or growth, and nothing paid touches pet care.
- We may rebalance how many coins a chore earns and what items cost, add or retire items, and fix mistakes. If we retire an item you already own, you keep it.
- Coins can be turned off for your home. That is your choice and costs you nothing else.
The Household plan
The Household plan is an optional subscription that unlocks extras such as seasonal sets, more widget styles, recap insights, and extra rooms. What the app and the store show when you subscribe, including the length and price of each option, is what applies.
- Two options. A yearly plan, which starts with a 14-day free trial, and a monthly plan, which has no trial. The store shows the price of each before you buy.
- Free trial. The yearly plan starts with a free trial of 14 days, one per store account. When it ends it turns into a paid yearly subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You manage or cancel it in your store’s subscription settings.
- One plan covers the home. When one person subscribes, everyone in the home gets it. Partners are never shown a paywall.
- Billing is done by the store. You buy through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), and they take the payment. We do not see or hold your card details.
- It renews by itself. A subscription renews at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. The store charges your account for the renewal in the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Renewal dates. Your store’s subscription settings show when the plan renews or your trial ends, and the store sends its own notices. We do not promise a separate reminder from Homebloom.
- Cancel any time in your store account settings (your Apple ID subscriptions, or Google Play subscriptions). Deleting the app or your Homebloom account does not cancel a subscription. You keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We cannot issue them ourselves. If something went wrong, email us and we will help you with the store.
- Restore purchases in Settings brings the plan back on a new phone.
- If the price changes, the store will tell you and ask you to agree before you are charged the new price.
What stays free forever: joining a home with your partner, unlimited chores, Budley and all its care, the basic widget, and coins from chores.
App Store terms
If you got the app from the Apple App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, for maintenance or support, or for claims about it, and is not a party to these terms. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Where these terms say nothing, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies. For Google Play, Google’s Play terms apply to your purchases and to the store itself.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for as long as you follow these terms. The app and its art, text and code remain ours or our licensors’.
Your content and your data
What you put into Homebloom (chores, names) stays yours. You let us store it and show it to the other people in your home so the app can work. We do not use it for anything else.
How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy. You can download a copy of your data in the app, under Settings, Account, Export my data, or ask us by emailing [email protected].
You can delete your account in the app (Settings, then Delete account) or by email. You leave your home straight away. Your account is erased after 30 days, and signing in before then keeps it. The privacy policy says what is erased and what stays in the home’s history.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Homebloom running, but we do not promise it will always be on or free of bugs. We may change, add or remove features. For changes that matter, such as taking away something you paid for, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. An old version of the app may stop working with the service.
Ending things
You can stop using Homebloom and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, or that puts the service or other people at risk. If we end your account for any other reason, we will give you notice and a chance to get your data. If we shut the service down, we will give notice, and tell you how to ask the store about a refund if you have an active paid subscription.
Limits on what we promise
Homebloom is a light-hearted tool for sharing household chores. It is provided “as is”. We do not promise it will suit your needs, and a reminder or a pet is not a replacement for anything important, such as medication or safety checks. Do not rely on it for those.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost data or lost time, and our total liability to you for anything arising from the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep the rights the law of your country gives you, and these terms do not take them away.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, except that if you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live still apply, and you may bring a claim in your local courts. Please write to us first at [email protected]. Most problems are easy to fix.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and its effective date. For material changes we will also tell you in the app or by email before they apply. If you keep using Homebloom after a change, you accept it. If you do not, you can delete your account.
